Game Director

Are you an experienced Game Director with a proven track record of shipping successful titles and leading creative teams from vision to launch?

We are hiring a Game Director to define and drive the creative vision of an established game project. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping the overall game direction, strengthening design strategy, and overseeing production in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

About the role...

As Game Director, you will be accountable for the game’s vision and player experience. You will translate creative ambition into clear mechanics, systems, and production priorities, ensuring alignment across design, production, publishing, and marketing.

You will lead the game design discipline while maintaining close collaboration with creative and production leadership to deliver milestones on time and at quality.

What we're looking for:

Game vision and creative direction

• Define and evolve the overall game design direction
• Translate the creative vision into gameplay mechanics, systems, and player experience
• Ensure coherence between core systems, progression, and content design
• Strengthen the strategic positioning of the game within its genre and market

Production leadership

• Collaborate with the Creative Director to define milestones and production priorities
• Oversee project planning while enabling team autonomy
• Align design decisions with production constraints and timelines
• Maintain quality standards throughout development

Team leadership and collaboration

• Lead and mentor the game design team
• Support the development of core features including game rules and progression systems
• Promote best practices across the production process
• Foster a collaborative and motivating creative environment

Cross-functional alignment

• Work closely with publishing and marketing teams on scheduling and communication
• Ensure the player experience vision is reflected in external positioning and messaging
• Represent the game’s creative direction across internal stakeholders

What we’re looking for:

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Game Design
• At least 2 years in a Lead Game Designer, Game Director, Creative Director, or Design Director role
• Experience as a Lead Game Designer on at least 2 shipped titles
• Strong background designing systems and content, ideally within licensed or high-visibility projects

Skills

• Clear and compelling vision for player experience
• Strong understanding of production pipelines and development constraints
• Ability to balance creativity with delivery pragmatism
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to align and inspire multidisciplinary creative teams
