ENTER THE GAME

We are looking for ambitious and creative minds to push the boundaries of Data Science at Betclic. 

Our Data team has already reached a high level of maturity: dozens of models and solutions are running live in production, powering our application and shaping decisions across every department of the company. This is your chance to join a team where Data is not a side support, but a real game changer at the heart of our product. 

You will be part of a squad of 9 passionate Data Scientists, working closely with Data Engineers, Product Owners, Data Analysts and MLOps experts. Together, we build, scale and maintain cutting-edge data products that directly impact millions of users. 

YOUR ROLE WITHIN BETCLIC

As a Data Science Intern at Betclic, you will have the opportunity to contribute to some of our most impactful projects. You will work on real-world challenges where advanced modeling meets business needs, with a strong focus on interpretability and clear communication of results. 

Your missions will include:

• Working on Implicit score optimization and content based model fine-tuning to improve recommendation systems in Casino app, with a focus on personalization performance, evaluation metrics, and model interpretability for business stakeholders. 
• Exploring forecasting approaches and strategies for horse racing, enhancing player experience and helping business teams plan and optimize key decisions.
• Working on generic use cases: Fraud Classification/Detection, Identity document validation.
• Collaborating with Data Scientists, Product Owners and business teams to align models with operational needs and ensure results drive measurable impact.

This internship will give you the chance to explore a variety of topics in applied Machine Learning, while contributing to projects with direct business relevance. 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for curious, passionate and collaborative people who enjoy solving problems and working in a dynamic environment. This internship is for you if you:

• You are currently enrolled in or have recently completed a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, and are looking for a gap-year internship.
• Have strong analytical skills, with rigor, autonomy, and the ability to synthesize insights.
• Are proficient in Python and have a good understanding of SQL .
• Want to grow your skills in communication and presentation, making complex models easy to understand.

Nice to have :

• Previous exposure to recommendation systems, forecasting, or customer analytics.
• Familiarity with libraries such as XGBoost, LightGBM, or deep learning frameworks.
• An interest in sports or gaming industries is appreciated, but not required. 

WHAT ARE THE RECRUITMENT STEPS?

If your application is selected, Claudia will contact you within a week for a short HR pre-screening (15 minutes). You will then meet your future supervisor and our Chief Data Officer (CDO), Iouri. Finally, you will have a closing HR interview to officially welcome you. To provide the best candidate experience, the Betclic recruitment process usually takes 4 to 6 weeks.
