Head of Food (France)

Inside Track is an organisation working to transform industries from within, and we are seeking an exceptional Head of Food to establish and lead our groundbreaking work in France.
This role offers the chance to build something truly impactful from the ground up – mobilising senior food industry professionals to drive systemic change toward a more sustainable and just future.

You'll be the founding team member in France, creating confidential spaces where senior executives from major food companies can collaborate on industry-wide challenges.
Think climate resilience, supply chain transformation, and addressing the uncomfortable truths that individual companies struggle to tackle alone.
Your mission:
turn insider insights into strategic campaigns that reshape how the French food system operates.

This isn't traditional consultancy or advocacy work.
You'll be facilitating sensitive conversations between competitors, protecting anonymity while amplifying collective voice, and translating boardroom frustrations into coordinated action.
Recent climate-related supply shocks – from cocoa shortages to flooding in key growing regions – have shown how vulnerable our food systems really are.
The professionals you'll work with know this intimately and are ready to act.

We need someone with deep networks in the French food industry – either through senior FMCG consulting experience at major firms or in-house roles at €500m+ companies.
You must be fluent in French and English, emotionally resilient to working in conflict situations, and entrepreneurial enough to build something from scratch without constant direction.

This is hands-on work with no team beneath you initially, though we expect to grow to
- 3 people over 18 months.
You'll need to be comfortable recruiting cold contacts, facilitating high-trust group conversations, and managing multiple stakeholder relationships independently.
Most importantly, you must genuinely care about using industry transformation to address social and environmental challenges.
