It is in this context of rapid growth that Synapse Medicine is expanding its team dedicated to the US to support its first group of customers and its large pipeline of potential new partners.

We are seeking a skilled Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer with expertise in Frontend and backend development to join the dynamic team working on our US product suite.
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building, maintaining, and optimizing intuitive and high-performing web applications, with a strong emphasis on front-end development using React . You will also maintain and enhance the backend services development tasks using Java (Spring Boot) .

You will report directly to the Team Leader and collaborate daily with our engineering, product, and design teams, both in France and the US.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality front-end components using React .

• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers and product managers to transform requirements and designs into intuitive and responsive interfaces.

• Contribute to the scalability, performance, and reliability of both front-end and backend systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java (Spring Boot) , to support core product workflows.

• Ensure efficient, reliable, and secure integration between front-end applications and backend services.

• Own features end-to-end, from frontend user experience to backend data flows and API design.

• Participate actively in agile practices, including code reviews, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups.

• Continuously improve both frontend and backend architecture, tooling and technical practices.

About you

Technical Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies ( JavaScript/TypeScript , React ).

• Familiarity with frontend state management (Redux, React Query).

• Solid experience in backend development using Java (Spring Boot) , including API design and business logic implementation.

• Comfortable with modern frontend workflows (Git, CI/CD, bundlers such as Webpack/Vite).

• Good understanding of RESTful API design principles, data contracts, and frontend–backend integration.

• Experience working with databases and persistence layers (SQL) in backend services.

• Knowledge of accessibility, performance, reliability, and security standards for both frontend and backend systems.

• Strong commitment to code quality, testability, and maintainability, to promote industry best practices.

Business Qualifications

• Proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• +5 years of professional experience , ideally with significant exposure to React and Java.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within international, cross-functional teams.

• Autonomous, proactive, and comfortable adapting in a rapidly evolving startup environment.

Nice to haves

• Understanding or experience with at least one of the following: electronic health/medical records, pharmacy management systems, clinical decision support, electronic prescribing, pharmacy benefit managers, and/or health data exchanges.

• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience collaborating closely with product and customer-facing teams.
